Chelsea are battling hard to keep hold of academy star Callum Hudson-Odoi, this window and beyond.

The 18-year old has had his head turned by interest from the Bundesliga, in the shape of four concrete offers from Bayern Munich. The blues have turned down all four offers, the latest being £35 million, this according to The Evening Standard.

Chelsea have no intention of selling the player, and are planning to convince him to stay, by increasing his playing time in the second half of the season.

Hudson-Odoi has a 5-year contract offer on the table from Chelsea, but hasn’t signed yet due to a lack of first team opportunities so far this season. Being in demand, and also looking at his fellow countryman Jadon Sancho playing regular football in Germany, it seems Hudson-Odoi has thoughts on doing the same.

Chelsea appear to be acknowledging the youngsters talent and believe he will stay at the club, and commit his future.

Head Coach Maurizio Sarri has also publicly stated that the England youth international has become a key part of his squad, and he plans to use him a lot more – putting him up there with his other wingers Pedro and Willian, who are both in their 30s now.

With Eden Hazard’s future becoming unclear, Hudson-Odoi may well look at that situation and see further chances to make it at Chelsea, factoring in the other ageing wingers.

Hudson-Odoi has been at Chelsea since the age of 7, and clearly has a love for the club. He posted on his Instagram urging fans to ‘not believe everything you hear’, before swiftly deleted said post. But this does suggest that the reports of him being desperate to leave, do not hold a lot of truth.
