Callum Hudson-Odoi has become one of the hottest young prospects in world football, and has no doubt had his head turned by interest from Bayern Munich, amongst other clubs.

But the player, who has been at Chelsea football club since the age of 7, and is a known Chelsea supporter, has become the subject of odd propaganda from some media outlets who are pushing the Bayern Munich move.

Chelsea have offered the 18-year old a brand new package, that will weigh up to around £70k a week, this has been widely reported. The club are confident that the winger will sign this deal.

As I touched upon, there’s no doubt that Hudson-Odoi has considered Bayern. He wants to play regular football, having seen the likes of Jadon Sancho do the same. He believes in his own ability, and believes that for him to progress he needs regular game time, now. I get that. His advisers just want him to play.

But the reports are that he now feels he can get that regular game time with Chelsea, as Maurizio Sarri starts to put his trust in the England youth international, and the general consensus is that he will sign the new deal.

So, one day after the news of Chelsea’s new contract offer coming out, certain media in the UK (I shall not name names, but it’s rather obvious), decide to run with a story that Bayern Munich will trump Chelsea’s offer and pay him £85k a week.

Well, that’s all well and good. But they’re missing one vital detail here. For them to offer that, they need Chelsea’s permission to speak to Hudson-Odoi, which to this point, has not been granted.

So even if Bayern want to offer that (no idea how they’ve obtained such information anyway), then there is no way they can get that offer to him, without breaking the rules.

With Chelsea already annoyed by Bayern’s conduct during this, I suspect they will need to be treading carefully in the future.

To sum up, I believe Hudson-Odoi will sign the deal, and will get his required game time with Chelsea this season.
