Gonzalo Higuain is patiently waiting to fly to London, in order to complete his loan move to Chelsea. According to several sources, this could be as soon as later today, or tomorrow at the latest.

This would of course mean that the Argentine front man will be available to face Tottenham in the League Cup Semi Final second leg on Thursday, as long as he is registered by 12pm on the Wednesday.

Meanwhile, The Echo are told by Italian reporter Nicolo Schira that Higuain has already completed parts of his Chelsea medical at a private clinic in Milan. He has also informed us that Milan will complete their replacement on Tuesday, the signing of Krzystof Piatek.

So as the dominoes begin to fall, Alvaro Morata has joined Atletico Madrid, according to Sky Italy. This has yet to be confirmed as official by either club, but it is widely reported as being a done deal. Morata will join the La Liga side on a 6 month loan deal, with an option to buy of around £49 million.

Higuain will join Chelsea in a reported deal that will be an initial loan, with the option to extend, and then the option to buy, should he hit certain targets set by Chelsea.

It seems a win win situation for Chelsea, who are desperate for more of a goal scoring presence. Tuesday expects to bring the final confirmations from all parties.
