Chelsea right back Davide Zappacosta is keen to leave Chelsea this window. His agent has held talks with Chelsea regarding a move to Lazio. But so far the two parties have not been able to agree a deal.

Chelsea want a loan and an option to buy, but it is the fee of the option to buy that the two cannot agree on up until now.

Chelsea also feel it is important to replace Zappacosta, having a backup for Cesar Azpilicueta.

Elseid Hysaj is the player having been mentioned the most, but any deal there seems highly unlikely, due to Napoli owner Aurelio de Laurentiis being notoriously difficult to deal with, especially for Chelsea after the Sarri saga in the summer.

Hysaj’s agent however, is flirting with reopening the negotiations with Chelsea for his client, who has predominantly been starting on the bench in recent times, and has grown very unhappy.

This is according to II Mattino, who state that Chelsea only want an initial loan deal for Hysaj, but De Laurentiis will only sell for a fee.

The Echo understands that Chelsea officials have also been thinking about bringing 18-year old defender Reece James back from his loan spell at Wigan Athletic. Although their are reservations that it will affect his current development in League One, where he is enjoying an excellent season so far.
