Maurizio Sarri’s struggling Chelsea side bounced back in style today as they beat bottom of the table side Huddersfield. Let’s take a look at five key talking points from the game…
1)Chelsea bounced back today and seized the opportunity they had in front of them
It’s fair to say the Blues have had a huge mixture of results so far this season, especially of recent. Today Sarri’s side knew they had to bounce back and seize the opportunity put in front of them. Chelsea went into this game knowing how important it was that they got all three points after getting beaten by Bournemouth earlier this week. Huddersfield are currently sitting 20th in the table and Chelsea rose to the occasion when it come to it. The Blues proved themselves and scored 5-0 against Jan Siewert’s poor Huddersfield side. Some may argue that Chelsea actually worked very well under the pressure in this Premier League tie today as they really only had one choice but to. A lot of pressure was riding on their backs from not only the manager going into this game but also the fans. They knew they had to do it. They put on an impressive display from start to finish which gave them a very strong and convincing three points in the end much to Chelsea players relief.

2) The Blues boss is happy with his team again
A lot of attention has recently been drawn to Sarri due to the comments he has made about his Chelsea players. After the Arsenal game he criticised them to a high extent. One comment that he particularly focused on was how ‘’unmotivated’’ his side was and this has been mentioned since in different press conferences. However, today that changed! The Chelsea boss praised the players in his press conference. He said: ‘’The team was really motivated today. That level must now be matched every game, whatever has happened before.’’ Therefore if the blues continue to hold a positive attitude in games I’m sure the manager will be fairly happy with that.

3)Chelsea’s new number nine Gonzalo Higuain is already scoring for the Blues
Chelsea fans will be very happy to have seen their new number nine net two goals in today’s game. Chelsea fans have been nothing but frustrated in recent months over the striker situation at the club and it was something that was becoming an increasingly bigger issue game by game. However, Blues fans hope that 31-year-old Higuain will change that and be a reliable focal point up front. Its fair to say the fans will be very impressed so far with the strikers start as he’s not long been at the club and he has already made a strong impact. Also, he holds a lot of passion to be at the London team which shines through in his performances something Blues fans will be very happy about.

4)Belgian wizard Eden Hazard was back to his old self again today
Of recent it has definitely been seen that Hazard has not been himself and that is massively down to the false nine formation that the Chelsea boss implemented. It was clear to see that Hazard didn’t play to the best of his ability in that upfront position and it was wasting his talent. However, since Higuain has joined the club and is making the starting 11 each game it has allowed Hazard to drop back to his old successful position. The Belgium has finally found his form again and net two goals for the Blues. Therefore, it can be seen that things are looking up for him as he truly showed the old Hazard everyone knows today.

5)The team pulled together in a tough time
Chelsea fans would have been very impressed with how the team pulled together today. At times like this it is very difficult for teams as they can try and march on and get results or they crumble and things can go massively downhill. However, after a heavy defeat to Bournemouth earlier this week this didn’t get the Chelsea players down. It looked like it gave them motivation to push harder. The Blues noticeably pulled together today and delivered a strong 90 minutes of good team football. Their attitude and passion stood out and I’m sure Chelsea fans and Sarri will hope that they keep this attitude going. The Blues are next to face Manchester City away so they know they need to come together and work hard more than ever now as a collective.
