1) Four huge games in ten days
Maurizio Sarri’s side have a very heavy schedule in the next ten days. These fixtures of which could be the making or breaking of the season for the South West London team! Chelsea are first of all set to face Manchester United on Monday night. If successful in beating the Reds Chelsea could progress to the Quarter Finals of the FA Cup. Then, on Thursday Chelsea are set to take on Malmo in the 2nd leg of the Europa League. The Blues have the home advantage in that tie and are already 2-1 up with an away goal which could potentially work in their favour. At the end of the week Chelsea will then travel to Wembley. They will face Manchester City in the Carabao Cup final which is a huge game and could be the Blues first piece of silverware this season all being successful. Then the Blues will take on Tottenham in the Premier League the following week. If Chelsea are unsuccessful in the three games this week, they could be knocked out of the FA Cup, Europa League and miss out on getting their hands on the Carabao cup trophy. Therefore, the pressure is on massively. However, the Blues will be set to take each game at a time something of which Gianfranco Zola mentioned in his press conference. Zola said: ‘’ We must focus on each task as they come, and at the start of a run of big games the first challenge is Monday’s big match. Only after that can we start thinking about Man City and Tottenham.’’

2) The Blues are underdogs going into this FA Cup clash

The Blues have had a massive range of results all season. There has been a lot of ups and downs for them. Even though Chelsea beat Malmo on Thursday night they did get beaten heavily by Manchester City loosing 6-0 at The Etihad last Sunday. This was a massive shock to the system for everybody and something the fans were truly took back by. Although Chelsea fans will of course want their team to storm on and get through to the Quarter Final of the FA Cup there won’t be much of an expectation. Most Chelsea fans will be going into this match expecting the worst due to the pain they have faced from other defeats this season. Therefore, the Blues are going into this as the Underdogs after that heavy defeat last Sunday. However, they may shock everyone and beat United as they may use it as motivation to push harder.

3) Chelsea’s biggest test yet in the FA Cup

This will be Chelsea’s biggest test yet in the FA Cup. The Blues have played two FA Cup games so far this season as all Premier League Clubs enter in the third round. The Blues have been successful in both games they have played. The South West London side beat Nottingham Forest 2-0 early on in the new year and beat Sheffield Wednesday 3-0 late on in January. Therefore, they have kept a clean sheet so far in the competition and will look to maintain that when they take on Manchester United. This is set to be the biggest test for the Blues. Not only is it United who are a really hard team to beat but the Chelsea team as a collective are not in the best place at the moment. The fans will be behind the Blues it is just their time to go for it and show what they can do.

4) Chelsea near enough have no injuries

Most players should be up for selection for the Blues on Monday night. This could work in the Blues favour as most players are fit meaning the options are open as to who Sarri plays and how he plays them. Zola said a few players need to be assessed before Monday’s game. Ruben Loftus-Cheek ‘may be’ available, and Zola adds we can expect to see a very strong Chelsea team on Monday.

5) Another chance of silverware for the Blues

Although it could be said that it has been doom and gloom for Chelsea of recent due to that heavy Premier League defeat against Manchester City things are not all bad. Chelsea are still in all competitions and are in a final on Sunday. That is something most teams would like to say they are in. This is another chance of silverware for the Blues and the fans will hope that the team are determined to push to get into the next round. The Chelsea manager has never won a piece of silverware therefore it would be nice for him to do that with Chelsea.
