  1. Giroud hattrick

Chelsea’s number 18 yet again scored for the Blues tonight in the Europa league. Chelsea’s in form striker set the pace for the South West London side as he smashed a goal into the back of the net just five minutes in. Then 33 minutes were on the clock and he scored another sharp goal with a confident assist from Chelsea team mate Marcos Alonso. To finish his hattrick off nicely he pinged one in 59 minutes in when he was unmarked in the box. Not only that Giroud also, assisted Callum Hudson-Odoi’s goal in the 78th minute of the game. The Chelsea striker has been flying in this competition so far and he has scored nine goals in total in the Europa league making him the competitions top scorer for this season.

2. Callum Hudson-Odoi and Ruben Loftus-Cheek both started

Chelsea youngsters Callum Hudson-Odoi and Ruben Loftus-Cheek both got on the starting 11 team sheet tonight for the Blues. Both players of which have been having strong performances of recent. Over recent weeks Chelsea fans have been questioning Maurizio Sarri as to why the Blues youngsters haven’t been starting but tonight to many peoples delight, they did and they certainly made an impact once again. 11 minutes in Ruben started to cause problems for Dynamo Kyiv as he nearly scored from close range however, it was denied by the finger tips of Boyko. Then, 78 minutes in Callum Hudson-Odoi netted the final goal for the South West London side for the night with an assist from Olivier Giroud.

3) Alonso scored for the Blues

Marcos Alonso has been heavily criticised by many Chelsea fans in recent months however, the Spaniard was selected to start in tonight’s game. The pressure was certainly on the Chelsea defender tonight as he knew he had to step up to prove himself. It was just before half time and Alonso smashed a goal in to put the Blues 3-0 up on the night. Not only that the defender also nearly scored a free kick in the 63rd minute of the game however, unluckily Boyko made a sensational save.



4) Another strong performance from Willian

Willian started for the Blues tonight and wore the captain’s armband. The midfielder was just on the back of a goal from the first leg of the game against Kyiv where he scored a screamer of a free kick and tonight, he didn’t score but he had a great performance once again. The Brazilian contributed very well to the team and this lead to him taking another brilliant free kick which Giroud knocked in to put Chelsea 4-0 up.

5) Chelsea are into the next round

Chelsea are now into the next round of the Europa League. Their impressive run has lead them to this stage and they have continued to fight and get the results throughout. Winning 8-0 against Dynamo Kyiv has set them up nicely moving onto the next round.
