Having attended the last two games against Brighton and West Ham like many I’ve felt encouraged and excited about the team selections.

As many of you know I’ve had my doubts over manager Maurizio Sarri and it has surprised me like many that it has taken this long in the season to finally start players that have more than deserved their chance.

Like I’ve said previously, I am grateful for the service Willian, Pedro & Alonso have given to our club but they are not the future. They have been out of form for long periods and it has been refreshing seeing the likes of Hudson-Odoi and Emerson get their chance. Although suffering from injuries it has also been positive seeing Ruben Loftus-Cheek start the last two games.

I appreciate that the last two games have been against lesser opposition but this can only breed confidence. I expect changes away to Slavia Prague on Thursday in the Europa League but I honestly feel the line up at Anfield on Sunday should be similar to what we’ve seen against Brighton and West Ham.

I’ve stated from the start of the season that I want Sarri to be successful with Chelsea and like many others I’ve questioned his team selections. As refreshing as it is seeing players get a deserved starting opportunity I do wonder if it’s a question of too little too late for many fans.

I’m not sure how but we are still firmly in the race for the top 4 and currently sit 3rd having played a game more. Difficult games ahead at Liverpool and Manchester United but I feel if we continue to play Hudson-Odoi, Loftus-Cheek and Emerson we give ourselves a better chance in the League and Europa League.

I appreciate it’s only two games but we need to continue this momentum going into the final games of the season.

Come On Chelsea!
