Despite a strong possibility that Chelsea will be banned from making any signings this summer, there is still an abundance of rumours beginning to circulate as we come towards the end of the season and the start of the summer transfer window. So, we’ve compiled them up together in this edition of the ‘Rumour Round-up’ and given our rating on its reliability:

The Daily Express and Sunday Express are amongst the sources reporting that Real Madrid are set to offer Chelsea two players in return for superstar Belgian Eden Hazard. The players in question are Gareth Bale and James Rodriguez, with Bale looking for an escape route from the Santiago Bernabeu and his Colombian colleague’s two year loan with Bayern coming to an end this summer. Following his man of the match display against West Ham, Hazard said to sky sports [on West Ham fans chanting ‘he’s off to Madrid’] – “No, They’re wrong.” And went on to say that for now he’s focused on Chelsea but at the end of the season “We’ll see”.

Our rumour rating – 2/5. It seems likely that Eden will make the move to Madrid but we doubt that it will see Bale and James move in the opposite direction, especially with the Welshman’s Tottenham Hotspur links.

Rumours have begun to circulate that Real Madrid want to pinch Chelsea’s young goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga this summer, just a year after they signed Courtois from the London club. The Sun are reporting that Chelsea are targeting English duo Nick Pope and Jack Butland as potential replacements if their current number one makes the switch back over to Spain, but could face competition from Bournemouth who are also monitoring the two goalkeepers.

Our rumour rating – 0/5. This surely isn’t going to happen. Kepa only signed last summer and has impressed for the club all season. He signed a huge long term deal that has his contract running at the club for 7 years and there’s no chance Marina Granovskaia will allow Madrid to bully their way to the signings of Courtois and now Hazard & Kepa.

Chelsea could make a move for West Ham target Duvan Zapata if the clubs transfer ban is lifted this summer, according to Tutto Mercato Web. The Colombia international has scored 25 goals this season for Serie-A club Atalanta including 20 in the league, with his finishing and physicality impressing scouts. It is reported that the Italian side will ask for £43M for the strikers signature this summer and it looks like Chelsea are set to enter the race for the 28-year-old. He was reportedly subject to a £30M bid from the Hammers in January.

Our rumour rating – 1/5. Chelsea will certainly be looking at strikers in the summer if their ban is lifted, with Higuain unlikely to sign permanently however we doubt that Zapata is their man. Despite a good season, he’s 28 year old and there’s better options elsewhere being reported by more reliable sources.

There has been a large number of reports suggesting that Serbian striker Luka Jovic is on his way to Chelsea this summer. The Metro, The Sun and others are reporting that The Blues have leapfrogged the likes of Arsenal, Manchester United and Barcelona in the race for Luka Jovic who ‘likes’ Chelsea move. On loan at Frankfurt, who Chelsea could face in the europa league this season, the Serbian has scored 23 goals this season and has turned the heads of top European clubs. The striker is on loan from Portuguese outfit Benfica but the German side are set to trigger a permanent option in the loan agreement this summer and may be tempted to cash-in straight away, demanding around £51M. Spanish source Marca are reporting Real Madrid and Barcelona are both interested but Chelsea are the current front runners for the forward’s signature.

Our rumour rating – 3.5/5. While not all the sources reporting this are always reliable, there are plenty who do have a decent reputation saying the same thing. We think this deal could happen and it would make sense for the Blues. Jovic is young and is a perfect example of the modern day striker – what’s £50M now’a’days anyway?

The Telegraph are reporting that Chelsea will attempt to off-load midfield flop Danny Drinkwater for the third transfer window in a row this summer. The Englishman signed for Chelsea in a deal worth over £30M two summers ago from Leicester in a move that raised eyebrows despite him being a premier league winner just a year before making the move. The 29-year-old has played just 30 minutes of football this season for Chelsea and that came in the community shield against Manchester City. Drinkwater is due in court in May over a drink driving incident that happened this week and that will only make his situation at Chelsea worse. He doesn’t seem bothered about forcing a move and has seemed happy enough watching football this season rather than playing it.

Our rumour rating – 5/5. The telegraph are fairly reliable and it’s a story that has been reported elsewhere too. Surely Chelsea will look to cut their losses and save the player’s wages, even if it means letting him go for next to nothing.

Great news as multiple sources including are reporting that Callum Hudson-Odoi is set to stay at Chelsea this summer and ultimately sign a new deal with the Blues. The 18-year-old has hugely impressed in his breakthrough season with Chelsea and even managed to gain 2 England caps in the latest international break. The winger was subject to multiple bids from German giants Bayern Munich in January worth up to a reported £40M despite never making a premier league start at the time, leading to the player handing in a transfer request. Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri has since put more trust into the young Englishman who has been at the club since he was just 7, which has prompted Hudson-Odoi to seemingly change his mind and now looks more likely to decide to remain at Chelsea and sign a long term deal.

Our rumour rating 4/5. We know the Chelsea hierarchy want to keep Hudson-Odoi and have apparently been annoyed at Sarri’s failure to give him minutes. The sources reporting this news have been reliable in the past and with Hazard looking set to leave and minutes on the pitch increasing for Hudson-Odoi in recent weeks, we’re confident in this rumour.

Finally, the Daily Mail are amongst the sources reporting Chelsea are set to sign Atletico Paranaense midfielder Bruno Giumaraes this summer. The 21-year-old has been impressive for the Brazilian outfit this season and has shown versatility playing mainly in midfield, but has also operated at centre back. The Brazilian would apparently cost around £34.5M and could step in to add depth to Chelsea’s midfield with a number of players such as Drinkwater and Kovacic looking unlikely to be at the club next season. The player also holds a Spanish passport which would ease the usual work permit problems that come with South American signings.

Our rumour rating 2.5/5. This is a signing that could happen but probably won’t be a priority for the club. It’s unclear if this player would improve Chelsea’s side or end up as part of the ‘loan army’ but he’s certainly impressed in Brazil, so we will see.
