Maurizio Sarri’s side clenched a win at the Sinobo Stadium all thanks to a goal from Marcos Alonso.

1)Willian had another impressive performance in the Europa League

It’s fair to say that Willian has certainly had an impressive run in the Europa League so far this season. The Brazilian has contributed a lot and has really helped the team clench them wins in the games he has played in. Tonight, was another one of them nights. His contributions wouldn’t go unnoticed. Chelsea really struggled to get going in the first half. You could definitely tell the Blues were away from home however, Willian helped to boost the team’s confidence 25 minutes in. Although the 30-year-old didn’t manage to score he still had a very good shot. He rattled the cross bar from a confident shot from the edge of the box. Which unfortunately came to nothing. However, Willian kept going and linked up with Antonio Rüdiger several times in the second half which really built up the momentum of the team. In the 85th minute of the game a brilliant cross from the Brazilian assisted Alonso’s goal to finish a great performance off from him tonight. He put out another very impressive display.

2)Sarri made several team changes

Chelsea boss Sarri made several changes to the team that played against West Ham on Monday night. It was clear to see that the Chelsea boss had the Liverpool game in mind as the Blues travel to Anfield for a very tricky Premier League tie this coming Sunday afternoon. Sarri made a few changes in defence, defensive midfield and in midfield however, it could be said that, that didn’t 100 percent work out. The Blues boss made three changes in the second half after it still being 0-0. 58 minutes were on the clock and Sarri was soon to react. The Chelsea boss brought Pedro off and Hazard on. However, this is a worry for the Blues as they rely on him so much and the Belgian could be gone in the summer. Therefore, it does raise concern. Furthermore, Sarri also brought Kante on for Mateo Kovačić and Ruben Loftus-Cheek on for Ross Barkley. These players of which have been very reliable of recent. When Sarri brought them on it showed their importance in the squad.

3)Kepa was pushed to the limit

Kepa Arrizabalaga had a very impressive 90 minutes for the Blues tonight. He made many saves which saved the Blues on many occasions. Kepa played a massive part in helping Chelsea keep a clean sheet tonight as Slavia Praha were very dangerous around the opposition box. Kepa was very alert throughout and didn’t let anything get past him.

4)Alonso nicked a goal for the Blues

Alonso hasn’t had very much game time for the Blues this season as the defender hasn’t been in very good form. However, the Chelsea boss has been giving him chances in the Europa League and today he did just that. Alonso was named on the starting 11 team sheet and it’s fair to say the Spainiard had a good performance which was topped off by a goal in the 85th minute of the game. Alonso was the star man of the night as he managed to nick the win for the Blues despite a very tricky and frustrating game for them. The 28 year old is maybe not having the best season however these small boosts of confidence will potentially get him back to where he needs to be. The Blues fans sung his name a lot last season but it just hasn’t been the case this season. If the Spaniard keeps working hard and impressing the manager the future may be bright for him.

5)Chelsea manage to get a win at the Sinobo Stadium
