Andreas Christensen has just four Premier League appearances to his name this season, and quite frankly this now seems absurd, especially when you look at some of the performances of those ahead of him.

Recently signing a new long term deal at Stamford Bridge, the 23-year old Danish international has come through the Chelsea academy and was often tipped to take the reigns from John Terry.

It’s been a stuttering time since his successful loan in Bundesliga, and he has failed to earn the trust of Maurizio Sarri, who opts for Antonio Rudiger and David Luiz as his main guys at the back.

I, like many, disagree with this and believe that Christensen should be starting regardless. So I decided to run a poll to see if others were on the same wave length.

The results were not surprising. Basically, Christensen should be starting, according to the fans, and they’re split over who should be next to him.

In a poll that received almost 6,000 votes, 48% of fans want to see Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen be our main two centre backs. Whilst 40% of you want it to be David Luiz alongside Christensen. Just 12% agree with Sarri and would chose his preferred pairing of Luiz and Rudiger right now!

Sarri has recently started to show signs that he is prepared to put trust in some of these younger and fringe players by starting Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Callum Hudson-Odoi in recent important league games. This has gone down well with supporters of course, but now they’re demanding Christensen next!
