Chelsea are of course under a transfer ban, as we are all aware. And by now you will understand that Chelsea are appealing the ban, and it could be frozen this summer.
Regardless, they can sell players either way. One player who is often mentioned with a move away from the club, is Willian.
The Brazilian winger is reportedly wanted by Barcelona, who have made a number of attempts to sign the 30-year old over the last two transfer windows.
It was widely reported that Chelsea rejected a £55 million offer from La Liga giants last summer, and also refused another deal in January, involving their Brazilian winger Malcom, going the other way.
Chelsea seem determined to keep hold of Willian, and I’d even been informed they were attempting to get him to sign an extended and improved contract with the club recently.
You’d think that with the impeding transfer ban, and the expected departure of Eden Hazard, that the Blues strong hold on Willian will be even firmer now.
But that could change should the transfer ban get frozen, and they decide to bring in one or two more wingers this summer, which is feasible with Pedro’s future also uncertain.
The Telegraph are the ones reporting this morning that Barcelona are preparing to make yet another move for Willian this summer, and hope to get him at a cut price deal as he moves into his 30s.
