As we approach another European Final and today marking 21 years since our ECWC success there’s no better time to look back on that famous victory in Stockholm.

After beating Vicenza in a memorable comeback at Stamford Bridge in the Semi Final fans were doing everything they could to get over to Sweden to watch Chelsea hopefully bring back a European trophy.

Chelsea outnumbered the Stuttgart fans in Stockholm with much of the ground being like a sea of blue.

Moment Of The Match:

Gianfranco Zola came on as a substitute for Tore Andre Flo on 70 minutes. Dennis Wise’s defence splitting ball set up Zola who had initially lost it. Zola shot spectacularly on the half volley with the ball landing in the roof of the net. 1-0 to Chelsea! The Chelsea fans went absolutely wild in celebration and it would be the blues bringing European silverware back to Stamford Bridge for the first time since 1971!
