Chelsea are set to lose star man Eden Hazard this summer, as they look to agree a fee with Real Madrid.

Although nothing has been agreed as of yet, it seems a matter of when and not if.

Now, you cannot replace Eden Hazard, that much is true. But one man who will hold the confidence to disagree with that statement, is 18-year old England and Chelsea winger Callum Hudson-Odoi.

The academy graduate is wanted by a host of top European clubs including Bayern Munich.

However, a report via reliable Goal journalist Nizaar Kinsella, would suggest that Chelsea’s attempts to keep hold of their asset, might just be successful.

Hudson-Odoi has a year left on his current deal at Chelsea, and asked to leave in January. However, the Blues refused, as did Callum refuse to sign their new contract offer.

Since then however, he has become an important member of the first team squad in the latter end of the season, and played 4 matches in a row before his unfortunate injury.

With Hazard leaving, the reports state that Hudson-Odoi is now more willing than ever to sign a new deal at the club he has been with since the age of 8, as long as he gets assurances that he will be an important first team member, and can be the one to take the reigns from Hazard.

For the Chelsea board, losing Hudson-Odoi is simply not an option, so this could well be the good news they need to pick themselves up after the inevitable happens and Hazard joins Madrid.
