73 minutes – The only goal of the game came from Roberto Di Matteo after capitalising on an error from Aston Villa goalkeeper David James putting the ball into the roof of the net from close range.

Looking back on this final it certainly wasn’t a classic and I remember thinking that at the match. With regards to Cup Final’s it doesn’t matter how you win, it just matters that you do.

It was that man again Roberto Di Matteo who came up with the crucial goal. Another great ‘Blue Day’ at Wembley and it was made extra special knowing it was the last F.A Cup Final at Wembley before it was to be redeveloped.

The F.A Cup has been good to Chelsea over the last 20 years or so and I hope this continues.
