Chelsea star Ngolo Kante is ‘doubtful’ for the Europa League final after picking up a knock on his knee in training yesterday.
This is according to the likes @FrankKhalidUK and @CarefreeYouth on Twitter who broke the news this morning.
Goal have also recently reported this news, meaning that this story has substance and credibility to it. However these reports are still unconfirmed.
This news if true, would come as a massive blow to Chelsea and their chances of winning the Europa League on Wednesday.
Especially considering the fact that Hudson-Odoi and Loftus-Cheek are both out with ruptured Achilles injuries.
Rudiger is also out with a long term injury.
So that’s potentially four of Chelsea’s best players who are out of their biggest game of the season on Wednesday.
Luckily the Blues still have Eden Hazard fit and available for selection.
Maurizio Sarri was confident that Kante would be ready for selection after returning from his injury suffered against Watford in the Premier League.
But this new injury could mean that we see a midfield three of Jorginho, Kovacic and Barkley on Wednesday.
This news would come as a massive boost to Arsenal, and with all the injuries Chelsea have got going into the game- the odds are now stacked in Arsenal’s favour.
Can an injury prone Chelsea now defy the odds like they always do and win the first piece of silverware under Maurizio Sarri?
Comment down below your thoughts on this Ngolo Kante injury. How will this affect the team selection on Wednesday if he is not in the team line-up?
