Chelsea youngster Jay Dasilva has today completed a permanent switch to Bristol City. The left back excelled last season on loan and has now put pen to paper on a four year contract with the club.

Chelsea fans had hoped that the young full back would be utilised in The Blue’s first team next season under Frank Lampard but the club have opted to allow Dasilva to depart the club.

The U-21 international is currently away with England at the Euros but will return to Bristol after international duty has concluded. Jay made 32 appearances last year for Bristol in a successful loan spell and Chelsea agreed an undisclosed fee for the move to be made permanent.

“His talents are clear for all to see and I am delighted we have been able to make Jay a permanent figure at this football club” said Bristol chief Mark Ashton.

Chelsea issued a brief statement in which they have said: “We thank Jay for his service for Chelsea and wish him well at Bristol City

We‘re disappointed that Dasilva never was given a chance in the Blue’s first team but everyone at the Echo wishes him the best with Bristol City. Thanks, Jay!
