Ruben Loftus-Cheek also at the ground, double announcement expected?
Frank Lampard has been spotted arriving at Stamford Bridge tonight, ahead of what appears to be (finally) the announcement of the legendary midfielder becoming the newest manager of Chelsea Football Club.
Lampard was given permission by his current club Derby County earlier this week, to negotiate a move with the Blues to take over the reins at Stamford Bridge after previous manager Maurizio Sarri returned to Italy to join Juventus last month.
Reports of Lampard already agreeing to move to Chelsea emerged earlier this week, with an official announcement expected to come on Wednesday evening.
Lampard is expected to sign a three-year contract with his former club, just one year into his senior managerial career and will bring the likes of Jody Morris and Chris Jones also back to the club to become part of the coaching staff.
In other news, Ruben Loftus-Cheek was also spotted at Stamford Bridge, which could possibly be confirming reports that came out yesterday that the English midfielder has signed his brand new, five-year deal – reportedly worth £150,000-per-week – and will be part of a potential double announcement by the club.
