Speculation has continued in recent days over the future of 18-year-old winger Callum Hudson-Odoi, who appears to be stalling on committing his future to the club.
However, reputable Chelsea journalist Nizaar Kinsella has settled fans by confirming that the player is still “very likely” to sign on the dotted line, with an announcement expected in the next few weeks.
It was reported a few weeks ago by Sky Sports that the highly-rated youngster was no closer to agreeing terms with The Blues than he was in January – when he was subject to multiple bids from Bayern Munich and as a result handed in a transfer request.
It is known that Hudson-Odoi rejected an £85,000-per-week offer a matter of months ago in order to try and force through his move to the German champions however the appointment of Frank Lampard as Chelsea manager has seemingly convinced the England international to change his mind as he now feels more valued in the first team with increased minutes and a starting role much more likely.
This comes as brilliant news to Blues fans who have already seen the likes of Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Mason Mount recently commit their long-term futures to the club.
Hudson-Odoi is currently at Cobham recovering from an Achilles injury sustained in the club’s 2-2 draw with Burnley and is potentially expected to return to action close to October.
