Kurt Zouma comes off the back of one of his most impressive seasons so far as a senior player at Everton last year.

However, he’s now back in the Chelsea fold and firmly in new head coach Frank Lampard’s plans.

The former Chelsea player spoke highly of ‘happy’ this week and confirmed that he wants him at the club this season.

Zouma though, might well have other plans, according to The Daily Mirror.

The report states that the France International is concerned of his regular game time at Chelsea and could prefer a permanent move to Everton.

Chelsea have Antonio Rudiger, Andreas Christensen, Kurt Zouma, David Luiz and Fikayo Tomori all competing for two centre back spots.

Ideally Chelsea need four as cover and rotation, and with four competitions to play – expect there to be a lot of game time up for grabs.

Which is why I’m surprised to be reading this speculation, which of course is just speculation at this point, unless we hear it from Kurt or his representatives.

But I would like to believe that Lampard will pick players on merit, and that Zouma will soon oust one of Rudiger or Luiz, who seem to be the regulars there.

But Zouma might obviously see more solid game time at Everton, which of course he WILL get.

I’d like to think though, that he has the self belief and determination to stay and nail down a spot at Chelsea.

But if the reports are true and his head is not in it, then I believe the club and Lampard would allow him to leave – with Frank being very ‘frank’ about only having players at the club who want to be there.
