Former Chelsea captain Gary Cahill has today signed for Crystal Palace following his release from The Blues.

The former England international, who has earned 61 international caps, spent 7 years at Chelsea in which he picked up 8 major trophies – including the Champions League in 2012.

The 33-year-old made just 2 appearances for Chelsea last season in the Premier League and was released at the end of the season following the expiry of his contract.

Cahill captained Chelsea after the departure of John Terry, but was later replaced by Cesar Azpilicueta who took over the armband under Maurizio Sarri.

The former Bolton man now links up with his previous England manager Roy Hodgson at The Eagles ahead of the upcoming Premier League season.

All Chelsea fans wish you the best, Gary!
