Fikayo Tomori is now set to stay at Chelsea after David Luiz joins our rival club Arsenal.

The player was in advanced talks with Everton on a loan deal, however the deal collapsed after we were short of one centre-back, according to Standard Sport and Simon Johnson.

It seems like at the moment, our centre-backs for the upcoming season will be Zouma, Christensen, Luiz and Tomori.

Would the loan move have been better for the English defender? We certainly will find out, however even as fourth choice defender he certainly will get a lot of gametime, and he certainly is part of Lampard’s plans after impressing the boss and Jody Morris last year at Derby County.

Tomori at the age of only 21 years old has a great opportunity now to try and force his way into the Chelsea team and impress Stamford Bridge as much as possible.

Let us know @TheChelseaEcho or in the comments your opinion on Tomori staying at the club. Is this the right decisin?
