According to Matt Law of the Telegraph, Chelsea will make a move for Nathan Ake next summer if Lampard feels he needs another defender.

The Dutch defender was at the club for five years from the age of 15 until he was sold two years ago.

In this transfer market, Eddie Howe put the value of £75 million on Nathan, however Chelsea have a clause that if we were to buy him we could do so for £40 million.

In this market, for a homegrown player, and a talent like him that could be seen as a bargain, especially with Maguire going for around £85 million.

David Luiz left on deadline day to Arsenal for an £8 million fee, and this has mean that Tomori will now stay at the club.

Previously, Lampard may have felt that Tomori was not as ready hence sending him out on loan to Everton was looking likely, however he had to stay as fourth choice centre back.

If this year is not good enough defensively, there’s a very good chance we’ll see Ake back in defence and in Blue.
