Frank Lampard’s Chelsea manage to get a point against Leicester in their first home game of the season after an emotional return for the Chelsea legend.

KEPA ARRIZABALAGA – 5

Made a few small errors today which Chelsea could have been punished for. James Maddison certainly caused him an issue inside the box in the second half but thankfully his team mates helped him out. There wasn’t much Kepa could have done to save Nididi’s goal going in. Overall, he was quite lucky not to concede more than one goal.

CÉSAR AZPILICUETA – 5

Not only did James Maddison create a problem for Kepa he also created a few issues for the Chelsea captain. He seemed to be out of depth at times and outpaced. Azpilicueta was one defender that was at fault for the Leicester goal as his marking wasn’t sharp and strong enough.

ANDREAS CHRISTENSEN – 6

Made a notably good tackle towards the end of the second half which did save Chelsea massively. Jamie Vardy was going for goal and trying to get the winning goal however the defender went in with a tackle to prevent it. It was a good and quick reaction from him however he did struggle to cope with both Vardy and Maddinson as they created real problems for him.

KURT ZOUMA – 6

Had quite a strong performance today and has definitely improved from his performance against Manchester United last weekend. He is showing promising signs however he knows he is under the threat of Rudiger taking his place when he is back. Jamie Vardy created the defender a few issues but overall there was clearly some big improvements from him today.

EMERSON – 8

It could be said that he had less issues to deal with in the game as not much was going on and coming down his side. However, he did have Ayoze Perez to deal with and he coped and managed him quite well. He marked him and was very alert. He was one of the best players for the back line today.

JORGINHO – 6

He helped to back up the defence and was very alert but can’t quite reach his full potential when the performances from the defenders behind him aren’t quite up to full speed yet. Showed promising signs but needs more help and back up from the defence.

N’GOLO KANTÉ – 7

Had quite a good performance against his old team and was very sharp and alert as usual. He along with many other Chelsea players struggled with the Leicester side especially in the second half. Overall, he played positively especially after coming back from injury.

CHRISTIAN PULISIC – 7

Even though he didn’t get his feet on the ball very much he had a good home debut and it’s fair to say that there will be a lot more to see from this player. He’s quite new to the side and obviously has to ease in but whenever he did get the ball and move forwards with it he did really struggle to make something from that.

MASON MOUNT – 9 (MAN OF THE MATCH)

The Chelsea youngster had a very impressive performance today and all thanks to his early first half goal the blues managed to get a point out of the game. He is certainly proving himself to Lampard and the Chelsea fans.

PEDRO – 7

Had quite a sharp performance today. He tried to deliver every time he got the ball and he helped Mount nearly score in the first half. Pedro and Azpilicueta contributed to a nice header for the Chelsea youngster and even though it didn’t come to anything the link up play was very promising between the three players.

OLIVIER GIROUD – 6

He didn’t have much to do today but when he did get the ball, he made some nice and successful touches. He didn’t really cause Leicester many problems or much to think about and then he got replaced by Tammy Abraham.

SUBSTITUTIONS

TAMMY ABRAHAM – 6

He came on for the last thirty minutes of the game and tried very hard to try and put the Blues ahead however, struggled to finish the game off. The striker showed positive signs and showed how much it really does mean to him to wear that Chelsea shirt.

MATEO KOVAČIĆ – 5

Didn’t really have much of an impact on the game and didn’t really get the ball that much when he come on.

WILLIAN – 5

Didn’t really have too much of an impact on the game when he come on and some of his touches were quite wasteful and panicked.
