League Two opposition awaits the Blues in their first domestic cup match of the season

Chelsea will play either Grimsby Town or Macclesfield Town in the third round of this season’s Carabao Cup.

As the Blues are involved in European competition, Chelsea enter the third round and will face the eventual winners on September 24th, fourteen days after the League Two sides face off in their rearranged match, which was postponed due to bad weather.

In this stage of the competition last season, Chelsea competed in an-all Premier League clash, being the only team to beat Liverpool at Anfield in a 2-1 win, thanks to goals from Emerson and Eden Hazard.
