Baka on the ‘go-go’ back to his former club for the season

Tiémoué Bakayoko has departed Chelsea on a temporary basis for the second consecutive season, this time joining his former club AS Monaco on loan until the end of the season.

After spending last season on loan in Italy at Serie A side AC Milan, the French International midfielder is returning back to his former club, having been signed originally from the Ligue 1 side for £40m back in July 2017.

He has made 43 appearances for the Blues, scoring three goals, helping the club win the FA Cup in his first season at Stamford Bridge.

He returns to the the club from the principality on an initial €2.5m (£2.25m) loan fee, with an agreed permanent transfer of €42.5m (£38.5m) already if Bakayoko proves to be a hit in the red and white of Les Monégasques once again.

EDITOR’S THOUGHTS

Just like other players in the ‘loan army’, Bakayoko clearly needs to find a permanent home, elsewhere.
