Chelsea hammered Grimsby Town 7-1 in the third round of the Carabao Cup at Stamford Bridge, setting up a blockbuster tie against Manchester United in the following round of the tournament.
In a game which saw debuts for a number of youngsters including Marc Guehi, Billy Gilmour, Ian Maatsan and Tino Anjorin and the return of wonder-kid Callum Hudson-Odoi, The Blues’ tore apart League Two outfit Grimsby Town with the final whistle blowing at 7-1.
Manchester United were not so comfortable, scraping through their tie against League 1 side Rochdale, with a 1-1 draw which Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men subsequently won in a penalty shoot-out. The game saw the return of injured Paul Pogba, who is likely to feature when the sides meet at Stamford Bridge in the next round.
Immediately after the games, the draw for the fourth round took place – with the Blues’ being pitched against Premier League rivals Manchester United. The game will take place in the week commencing 28th October, with the final date and time currently not confirmed.

Elsewhere, there is an exciting tie lined up at Anfield with Liverpool taking on Arsenal after beating MK Dons and Nottingham Forest respectively. There’s a number of Premier League clashes including Manchester City vs Southampton as well as Everton vs Watford also to look forward to.
