The Chelsea Echo understands that yesterday, Marcos Alonso’s representatives met with Inter Milan over a possible move to Italy in the upcoming January transfer window.
The Spaniard has been left out of the team since his terrible performance against Ajax at Stamford Bridge, and is out of favour in the current squad.
Alonso has struggled ever since Antonio Conte left the club, and him re-uniting with the Italian would help his personal career as well as Conte’s team.
A couple of days ago, our good friend @NicoloSchira stated that Alonso would want to return to Italy. Inter wanted a loan deal with an option to buy, whereas Chelsea preferred the permanent deal.
Yesterday’s new contact suggests that advancements would have been made, and it is looking extremely likely that Alonso will leave the club in January, with ex-Chelsea player Nathan Ake joining the club once again.
The transfer window commences in less than twenty days, and Lampard’s recent comments implies that we will certainly be buying a couple players, as well as getting rid of some of the unused ones such as Alonso, Pedro and Giroud.
This is the transfer window. Anything can change.
