Chelsea are the presumed favourites to sign Kai Havertz from Bayer Leverkusen this summer, but Frank Lampard is only focused on the next Premier League match against Sheffield United tomorrow evening.
With an agreement already in place for the midfielder to move this summer, many top clubs across Europe have been put off by the £89.8 million valuation.
Bayern Munich and Real Madrid have shown strong interest in sign the 21-year-old but for the season beginning 2021/22, which has put the Blues firmly in charge.
It has been speculated that Chelsea are ready to match the hefty asking price, but Lampard is fully focussed on the remainder of the season as the Blues aim for a top four finish.
“Unfortunately it’s another answer from me that that is not something I want to broach at this moment in time,” he explained to the media on Friday about Havertz.
“My focus is completely on the game so I don’t want to give you any ifs buts or maybes for the summer – my focus has to be on the here and now.”
With four games left in the Premier League season, Chelsea are currently third in the table after climbing above Leicester City following a 3-2 win against Crystal Palace.
The Blues, however, have already been busy with incomings after acquiring the signatures of Hakim Ziyech and Timo Werner. The pair are expected to join up with the club during this month.
