After impressing on loan at Swansea City foe the last six months of last season, Marc Guehi has returned to the club.

The Chelsea defender hopes he can make further progress with Swansea City when next season begins.

He played 14 times for the Swans and were unable to gain promotion via the playoffs as Steve Cooper’s side lost to Brentford over two legs in the semi-final.

Guehi is a promising young defender and another season on loan gaining more game time will help his development, which Chelsea will keep a close eye on his progress.

Guehi will be with the club for all of this campaign, and hopes he can progress individually and the team can do the same.

“I’m very happy. I never really left!” he said, per the club website.

“I really enjoyed my time at Swansea last season, so it made sense to extend my time here.

“It was a really good opportunity for me last season. I played games and the support from the fans was amazing.

“I was part of a group of really good footballers and characters who helped me a lot.

“I want to get an opportunity to play and keep learning and progressing. The most important thing, though, is that we are winning.”
