It’s that time of the year again where we dust off our consoles and prepare for the heartache and broken controllers all over again with the release of EA Sports FIFA 21 upon us. Whether you’re just a casual player or a diehard Ultimate team master, I’ll be looking at why the Blues are the team to use this year.
Let’s start with EA’s big money machine – FIFA Ultimate Team. A concept where players use FIFA coins to sell and buy players in hope of building one of the best teams in the game. Now you’re probably thinking what this has to do with Chelsea but one of the best things with each new FIFA and specifically ultimate team is the new transferred players now available at your disposal and when it comes to transfers this summer then look no further than Stamford Bridge.
Due to the chemistry requirements needed some players were unable to be put together but now think of a front three of Raheem Sterling, Timo Werner and Mohammed Salah running your team. If that doesn’t whet your appetite, well then how about a backline with the combination of Thiago Silva and Virgil Van Dijk. All these endless possibilities are now a reality thanks to Mr Abramovich summer spending spree and gives you the opportunity to grind and create one of the best premier league related squads in years.
If Ultimate team isn’t for you and you’re more of an old school FIFA player then fear not as when it comes to career mode there can only be one team to choose. Not only will you start already with a squad containing Timo Werner, N’Golo Kante, Hakim Ziyech etc but you’ll have a truckload of money to pursue your own personal targets. You’ll also have some of the best youth talents at your feet that you can grow into world superstars or simply sell on for a large fee and continue your own rebuild job. Every fan will now have the chance to be in Frank Lampard’s shoes and take Chelsea to the top whether through youth or money.
Finally, let’s just look at why using Chelsea is the best way to smash your mates and give you bragging rights on the game. Due to the personal within the squad and talent we have every formation will be possible to whichever suits you best. Fancy being defensive and grinding out a 1-0 win? Then how about going 5-4-1 with Reece James and Ben Chilwell wing backs, Thiago Silva central centre back, N’Golo Kante in front of the defence and Christian Pulisic on the left supporting Timo Werner.
Like to put on a show and humiliate your opponents with goals? Imagine how good using 4-2-4 would be with Werner, Ziyech, Abraham and Pulisic all together and creating absolute chaos up top. As you can see, Chelsea’s influence on the game this year will be strong in each different mode making it exciting to see how the game plays out. One thing for sure is that Chelsea will certainly be the team to use this year.
