Chelsea looked to make it six clean sheets on the bounce against a Sheffield United team who play a lot better than their current league position suggests. Although Chelsea conceded early, their determination and fight was shown with a dominant performance.
Conceded his first goal since making his debut for the Blues, but there wasn’t much he could do. Pretty commanding performance despite that though.
Always a threat with his forward runs and it’s nice to see his blossoming partnership with Ziyech coming off well in games. Unlucky that his free kick was saved. Tidy performance from the youngster.
Another solid performance at centre back for the Frenchman. He seemed to enjoy his battle with McGoldrick after the initial shock of being beaten early on. He’s starting to look solid in defence with Silva.
Probably his best game in a Chelsea shirt. Relatively calm at the back which is something Chelsea have previously lacked. Always making himself available for midfield. Capped off his performance with a goal.
Had some shaky moments in defence but going forward, looked a real threat. His efforts paid off with a goal just before half time. Was also denied a second goal moments later by a good save from Ramsdale.
The Croatian will be kicking himself that he didn’t score with that opportunity just after the restart. Also contributed with a good assist in the first half to help set up Abraham up and get Chelsea back into the game. Hobbled off with an ankle injury.
Playing in a deeper role which he thrives on, Kante made some key runs and bursts to cut off any passing avenues. Pushed further up the pitch when Jorginho came on and put a lovely ball through for Werner to score Chelsea’s fourth.
Looked off the pace in this match. Had some good moments especially with a testing shot on goal being saved by Ramsdale. It was interesting to see a different side to his game.
Stunning performance from the moroccan. His creativity and chance creating is getting better which each game. He was hungry to create scoring opportunities all game and set up a lovely pass for Kovacic that led to Chelsea’s equaliser. He set up an even better pass for Chilwell’s goal. He also assisted for the Silva goal.
Scored in consecutive games for the first time this season. Had a low and fairly tame shot saved early on. It seems that Abraham has silenced some of his critics at least for the time being after scoring in both the league and in Europe. His all-round game looks to be coming in leaps and bounds under Lampard’s management.
The German seems to be adapting to life in the Premier League pretty well. His fourth goal in all competitions. However, for large parts of the game he was frustrated and missed two opportunities to increase Chelsea’s lead. Has shown versatility in his role and worked hard on and off the ball.
Came on Kovacic and was fairly tidy and did his job.
